Mike Limat LL.M. 李嘉麦
Corporate Law graduate

at Leiden University and Peking University

I am a receptive and multilingual lawyer with a passion for the law and a particular interest in Chinese IP practice, culture and legal systems. I hold an LL.M. in Corporate Law from Leiden University, where I specialised in Intellectual Property Law. My thesis examined the issue of Chinese Trade Mark Squatting of Western brands in China, utilising my expertise in both Chinese and Western legal frameworks.

In addition to my LL.M. studies, I had the privilege of attending Peking University in 2019, where I deepened my understanding of Chinese Law.

During my LL.B., I developed a strong interest in Jurisprudence, specifically the Philosophy of Law, and the functioning of European democracies. My thesis, 'Democratic Vaccination in a European Dimension,' explored the concept of militant democracy and contemporary threats to democracies within Europe.

After graduating, I have gained two years of practical experience in Intellectual Property Law at two international law firms located in the City of London.

Currently, I am following a Chinese Language Program at Beijing Language and Culture University. My passion for China, Chinese legal systems and bridging our continents continue to drive my career aspirations and academic pursuits.

Best regards,

Mike Limat
